Description
I started this piece before I saw the new movie, I wanted to keep it from getting too "movie-fied".
This is how I imagine Alice in her very early teens. She's not a girl anymore, but not exactly a woman either. She doesn't remember her journey to Wonderland, but there are certain shadows of it that remain in her waking life. For instance, she has a darling little pet rabbit, and to the confusion of her mother, Alice insists that putting a watch on his collar as it "just seems the thing to do". The cat is not hers, but is a strange animal that pops up from time to time at her home. It seems terribly curious about her, and loves any attention she gives it, but has a habit of vanishing if she turns away for a moment. Also, it has the strangest grin, and a funny collar with a chess piece attached to it...
I don't know, just something that had been floating around in my head for awhile.
I used an awesome fur/hair brush set by , and a crack texture from somewhere for the wall and chess piece (it was royalty free, I just don't remember the site).
No other brushes/references used.
Alice is © Lewis Carroll (or maybe not, I think it's public domain now)
Art is © ME, Arah N
